Let’s face it, not everyone is willing to risk their own life to save another. However, sometimes we witness spontaneous acts of heroism that will make you stop and think, just like this heroic man who tried to save a woman who fell from the 11th floor.
It was just a typical night for a Chinese man named Feng Ning. However, little did he know that he will come face to face with life and death that night. As he was leaving a restaurant in Enshi, Central China, he heard the shrieking screams of a woman from the upper floors of a building.
Upon looking up, he saw a falling person that was about to hit the ground. In a blink of an eye, the man immediately sprung into action and attempted to catch the woman with his arms.
However, instead of saving the woman, the former soldier was crushed by the powerful force of the falling person. In the end, Feng needed to be rushed to the nearby hospital to address his injuries while the woman was dead upon impact.
Because of his injuries, the man needed extensive surgery. He was admitted to Enshi Central Hospital, where doctor Li Yanbing of the spinal surgery department elaborated on the man’s injuries:
“He was knocked out by the impact and suffered injuries on his knee joints, and had a tibial plateau fracture. His anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the medial ligament have been dislocated.”
Due to his bravery, many locals in Enshi are hailing Feng as a hero. Indeed, people like him who are willing to sacrifice their lives for others are rare nowadays. To watch the entire incident as it unravels, check out this video below:
