Must See: Hong Kong employer caught on cam abusing her Indonesian maid

When an employee fails to do a good job, the employer will understandably get mad. But there is absolutely no reason for a boss to abuse anyone who works under them. In a viral Facebook live video, an elderly Hong Kong employer can be seen beating up her Indonesian maid.

As she was being hit and verbally abused, the Indonesian maid was heard calling out for help. She reportedly kept repeating the words:

“Oh God, I’m being smacked. I don’t accept her speaking that way to me.”

The Indonesian maid was so shocked and angry at what was being done to her that she called her Hong Kong employer a dog in her native language. The lack of understanding because of the language barrier seemed to anger the elderly employer further.

The elderly woman kept insisting that the Indonesian maid speak Chinese as she hit her. A rough translation of her words were:

“Why don’t you speak Chinese? Why are you speaking this other language? I don’t understand. You’re so evil, what are you saying about me? Speak! Speak my language. What are you saying? Use Chinese. I’ve never had anyone make me as angry as you do.”

It appears as though their conflict started when the employer blamed the helpless domestic helper and called her useless for the smallest and most insignificant mistakes. She tried to reason with her boss but it just ended in abuse.

What’s more upsetting was there are a few people who think that the Indonesian maid was at fault. They said that if she would have kept quiet then this wouldn’t have happened to her. A classic case of victim-blaming.
