There are parents who like placing their kids under the care of other family members or paid strangers, as they work for their family’s future. But the reality is that there are lots of circumstances that push other parents to hire a babysitter or a nanny. To ensure that only legitimate people get to take care of their kids, arduous screenings and interviews are conducted.
But of course, this isn’t foolproof. Heartbreaking as it might sound, there are babysitters who appear nice only as a facade. When the parents or other family members are away, their true colors show. This is what was caught by a CCTV camera in a residential building elevator in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China.
A mother wearing a pink dress escorted her child and the nanny to the elevator. Thinking everything was going to be okay, she waved goodbye to her child and as expected, the kid cried. This wasn’t something the nanny wanted but decided to do something about it when the lift’s doors close.
When she thought the coast was clear, the old woman lifted her hand, threatening the crying child. But the kid didn’t stop crying so she started brutally hitting it. The child’s stomach and head were rained down with strong punches and the woman even shook the child with force. Fortunately, the parents must have seen the video because they went to the local police to report the incident.
The nanny, named Ms. Li, was then arrested for causing “grievous bodily harm with intent.” Netizens couldn’t stomach what they have witnessed and condemned the heinous actions. One even asked how could a woman do something so bad to a child.
“Does the woman have any children? How can she do this to a young child?“
